The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project in Gombe State has organized a two-day training for officials of the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) and Education Management Information System (EMIS) officers to strengthen monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
The training, conducted in partnership with Taruscom International, focused on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Dashboard Development and hands-on training on the use of Kobo Toolbox for effective data collection and reporting.
Declaring the training open at Custodian Hotel, the State Project Coordinator, Dr. Amina Haruna Abdul, commended the consultants for organizing the programme, noting that it would help refresh the knowledge of participants and enhance their capacity.
Dr. Abdul explained that the training, as outlined in the consultancy firm’s Terms of Reference, was designed to train SPIU members and EMIS officers from the Ministry of Education, the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and Local Government Areas across the state.
She urged participants to take full advantage of the opportunity by tapping into the wealth of experience of the resource persons.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Gombe State AGILE M&E Component Lead, Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed, said the training would equip participants with additional knowledge on reporting tools and other applications used in monitoring and evaluating AGILE activities.
He therefore encouraged participants to pay close attention during the sessions for the benefit of the project.
Resource persons made presentations on various M&E tools and Dashboard development during the training.
In a closing remark on behalf of the participants, the Communication Officer of the Gombe State AGILE Project, Saidu Bappa Malala, appreciated the consultants for the training and assured that participants would apply the knowledge gained during the two-day interactive sessions to improve the implementation of the project.
