Katsina State Zakkat and Waqf Board has introduced digital payment system for Zakkat distribution.
The chairman of the Board Dr Ahmed Filinsamji, revealed this during a press briefing on the latest reforms introduced by the board in Katsina.
He said the digital payment system will allow for transparency and efficient distribution of Zakkat.
According to him, it will also boast confidence from both Local and international donors as well as increase public participation in the system.
The Chairman of the board added that the introduction of the platform comes at a time when financial transactions are increasingly becoming digital in the 21st Century ,which will no doubt position the state among the leading states in the country.
Dr Filinsamji therefore , called on all stakeholders, including Zakkat payers, beneficiaries, government at all levels, institutions , Community leaders among others to support and cooperate with the digital payment introduced by the board.
