The Bauchi State Government has uncovered and removed more than 3,000 ghost workers from its payroll, saving the state over ₦4.16 billion.

Speaking after the State Economic Council meeting, the Governor’s Chief Economic Adviser, Alhaji Yahuza Adamu Haruna, explained that the government reviewed the state’s salary administration process in collaboration with Onyx Investment Advisory Limited, a consulting firm.

He revealed that by August 2024, the state government took over salary payments from the firm. According to him, the move has eliminated complaints that previously plagued the payment process.

Alhaji Haruna emphasized that the government remains committed to ensuring transparency and efficiency in salary administration.
