The Gombe State Government has inaugurated Local Government Coordinators for the Renewed Hope Initiative, urging them to ensure the programme effectively reaches the grassroots.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Governor Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau said the initiative, championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is aimed at improving the welfare and living standards of Nigerians, with particular focus on vulnerable groups.
Dr. Jatau conveyed the goodwill message of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and commended the appointment of a former Minister of Education, Dr. Aishatu Jibril Dukku, as the State Coordinator of the initiative. He described her as a capable and experienced leader who is well positioned to drive the programme’s objectives in the state.
The deputy governor charged the newly inaugurated local government coordinators to justify the confidence reposed in them by discharging their responsibilities with dedication, transparency, and commitment to service.
As part of the ceremony, rice donated by the Federal Government was distributed to vulnerable persons across the state, in line with the objectives of the Renewed Hope Initiative.
