The North East Development Commission NEDC has completed rehabilitation work at the tomb of Nigeria’s first Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, led the Board and Management of the Commission on a tour of the historic site in Bauchi.
He explained that the project involved extensive upgrades to key facilities within the complex, including the museum, the library, the main tomb, the reception block, and improved public conveniences for both men and women.
The minister noted that the intervention reflects the Commission’s commitment to preserving national heritage and promoting tourism development in the North-East region.
