The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The endorsement was announced during the party’s state congress held on Tuesday, where new executives were elected to manage the affairs of the party for the next four years.
The motion for the endorsement was moved by the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, and seconded by Hon. Abdullahi El-Rasheed, member representing Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency. It was subsequently adopted through a unanimous voice vote by party members.
Addressing delegates at the congress, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya described the endorsement as a demonstration of appreciation for President Tinubu’s leadership at a time Nigeria is navigating economic and governance challenges.
He noted that Gombe remains one of the strongest APC chapters in the country, revealing that the state recorded over 400,000 registered members during the party’s recent e-registration and membership revalidation exercise, ranking 10th nationwide.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed confidence that the APC in Gombe is united and well-positioned to secure victory in the 2027 elections. He also commended the party’s national leadership and members of the congress committee for ensuring a peaceful and transparent process.
The newly elected state chairman, Mohammed Dantata Ndus, pledged to strengthen party unity and mobilize support to ensure electoral success at all levels, while the outgoing chairman, Nitte Amangal, thanked members for their support during his tenure.
The congress was attended by party stakeholders, elected officials and government appointees from across the state.
