The National Orientation Agency has commended Civil Society Organizations for their vital role in shaping public awareness, especially in strengthening government policies and programs.
The State Director of the Agency, Mrs. Adaline Waye Patari, gave the commendation in a goodwill message at the Gombe South Stakeholders Engagement tagged “Let’s Talk With Our Representatives,” held at NITDA Park of the Gombe State University.
Represented by the Head of Planning, Research and Strategy Department, Abubakar Jibrin, Mrs. Patari lauded Youth O’Clock Nigeria and its partners for convening the session, describing it as a powerful tool to educate constituents on the constitutional responsibilities of their representatives.
She further emphasized the need for full cooperation and support from stakeholders to sustain the initiative, assuring that the Agency remains committed to backing such engagements to achieve meaningful results.
During the event, the Member representing Gombe South in the State House of Assembly, Comrade Mustapha Usman Hassan, presented his scorecard and gathered inputs from constituents ahead of the 2026 budget appropriation.
On his part, the State Coordinator of Youth O’Clock Nigeria, Comrade Abdulazeez Sani Labaran, who moderated the interactive session, noted that the forum was the first of its kind in the history of Gombe.
He explained that it was designed to raise awareness on the duties of lawmakers and provide a platform for constituents to air their grievances directly.
The engagement attracted a cross-section of Gombe South constituents, traditional leaders, and critical stakeholders, urging citizens to go beyond personal demands and instead hold representatives accountable to their constitutional obligations for the greater development of the state and the nation at large.
